THE FEEL
Gated, Lake Sherwood is a quite, country neighborhood of 1,200 acres with six lakes. Family and retirement friendly, residents are both permanent and seasonal.
HISTORY
Lake Sherwood is part of Overland, Missouri, which has a history dating back to 1820 when travelers westward from St. Louis would stop overnight at what became known as "The Overland Park".
Daniel Boone, noted frontiersman, constructed a single room cabin here, near the current location of Lake Sherwood and Wyland Elementary School.
ACCESSIBILITY
Forty-seven miles northwest of St. Louis, Lake Sherwood is accessible from Highway 94, and a little over an hour drive from downtown St. Louis.
CULTURE
The neighborhood is socially engaged and volunteer driven. There is an emphasis on healthy living and quality recreation.
ENTERTAINMENT
The many lakes of Sherwood offer a range of activities for residents and guests to enjoy, from water skiing, swimming boating, and fishing. The neighborhood also houses a community center, inland pool, camping grounds, and even a private beach!

Campground Park | This park contains a pavilion with a large grill and electrical outlets. There is a playground, fire-pit, and also a volleyball court. Overnight camping is also available.
Gabion Park | There are docks for boats and also swimming. A great place for a cookout, the park has plenty picnic tables and also grills.
Island Park | This park is only accessible by watercraft. It features a dock and has a designated swim area.
Marina Park | This park includes picnic tables, a barbeque pit, small areas with tables, and grills.
Peninsula Park | Walking distance from the clubhouse, this park has benches perfect for viewing Lake Sherwood.
Robin Hood Park | A secluded area, this park contains docks and a pavilion with tables.
Rocky Point Park | On the western cove of Lake Sherwood, this park contains a dock and picnic table.
George H. Schmidt Spirit Park | Includes a lighted baseball field and a multi-purpose court used for basketball in the summer and ice skating in the winter. This park also includes a picnic pavilion, large playground, and walking track.
