THE FEEL

The layout of St. Ann real estate reflects its family-oriented feel. Neighborhoods are neatly designed with many homes in easy walking distance to St. Charles Rock Road. The bungalow architecture of the homes is typically compact and efficient, though many homeowners have built additions or have added a second floor. Yards are spacious, offering a great place for kids to play.

HISTORY

Charles F. Vatterott, the developer and builder of most of the residential and commercial properties in St. Ann, started the community as a housing project for families of workers employed in nearby defense plants. It quickly grew into a permanent community, featuring moderately-priced homes and a strong community feel. St. Ann is named after Saint Ann, the mother of the Virgin Mary.

ACCESSIBILITY

MetroBus and MetroLink connections are available, providing convenient travel into St. Louis and Lambert St. Louis International Airport. St. Charles Rock Road, a main artery in the area, runs through St. Ann as well.

CULTURE

If you are looking for a great spot for your work commute, St. Ann is a place you should consider. Housing is affordable and utility rates are reasonable, and yet the city does not skimp on city services. Family and church are priorities for St. Ann residents.

The city is served by two school districts: Pattonville School District and Ritenour School District.

PARKS & REC

Buder Park | This 1-acre walk- up park features a pavilion and small playground ideal for a small picnic and just the place to bring smaller children to enjoy time at the park.

Livingston & Wright Park | Although small in size, just a ½ acre, this walk- up park still provides activities for people to come by and enjoy. Located next to ABC ballpark, it has a small pavilion along with a playground, a swing set, and horseshoe pits.

Mary Ridge Park | Perfect for a gathering of 50 to 75 people, Mary Ridge has a pavilion with a comfort station, and a ball field. A large playground is the main feature of Mary Ridge Park.

St. Ann Park | This well shaded park features a ½ mile walking/jogging path, 3 pavilions along with 2 comfort stations. The park also has 2 mini shelters and several small picnic areas for a small group or anyone wanting to enjoy lunch in the park. Two playgrounds are also available for children to enjoy. Lighted tennis and hockey courts, two ball fields and a basketball court are other activities offered at St. Ann Park. 

Schafer Park | Schafer offers a pavilion and comfort station as well as a sand volleyball court, hockey and tennis courts. two ball fields and a large amount of open ground allow Schafer to be used for many outdoor activities. The park also has a large playground, a smaller playground for younger children, and a walking/jogging path that circles the park. 

Tiemeyer Park | Set on 41 acres this is the largest of the city’s parks and serves the entire community. Outdoor facilities include 5 pavilions and 2 mini shelters that can accommodate a small group on up to 300 people. Comfort stations located throughout the park for easy access by visitors. Lighted tennis and hockey courts along with 2 ball fields are also available for play. For the fisherman, a 1-acre lake is open year round for fishing. Two playgrounds are located near pavilions for kids of all ages to enjoy. Tiemeyer Park also has an amphitheater, which is the setting for concerts the city puts on during the summer.

Vatterott Fields Park | Vatterott Fields have the two best ball diamonds in St. Ann. 

Jack Rehagen Municipal Pool | In Tiemeyer Park, the pool complex has an outdoor and an indoor pool, two water slides, a whirlpool and sauna.

St. Ann Golf Course | Challenging par 34, 9-hole course set on 55 beautiful acres with total yardage at 2,615. Course is open all year long weather permitting.
